Using IESVE for CFD Studies

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has long been proven as a significant contributor for optimising building performance, offering designers valuable insights into airflow within spaces to assist in creating comfortable, draught-free, and well-ventilated indoor environments. CFD also helps with analysis for the likes of BB101, HTM 03-01, CIBSE TM52 and TM59, supporting the creation of high-quality, sustainable spaces.

This 1-hour webinar will de-mystify the use of CFD analysis with MicroFlo-CFD, IESVE’s integrated CFD airflow application. We’ll show you how you can get started with CFD quickly and easily and share data and results between other IESVE applications without the need for complicated imports or exports.

What will be covered?

  • Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • The relevance of CFD for building design
  • Introduction to MicroFlo-CFD and how it can be used to undertake internal CFD studies
  • Case study examples:
    • Healthcare: Consideration of healthcare regulations using an example operating theatre. Following HTM 03-01 guidance and analysing the airflow within the space
    • Education: Avoiding cold draughts and maintaining occupant comfort within a high school classroom

What our customers are saying

"We were already using IESVE to provide building energy simulation to support our consultancy service in advising pharma companies in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability. Now that we've also got that CFD expertise in house, it's really helpful to be able to build that in."

"For us, reliability is key. We have explored other modelling tools in the past but have never felt like those are capable of doing what we as a business need. I’ve trained several modellers now and always tell them, to model in a detailed and technical way, go for IESVE."
